AEC SOUTHALL · FORMER SPARES DEPT
This collection of views shows the only block of original AEC Works buildings that remain today - the former Spares Dept.  The building on Windmill Lane stands by the gateway to the "Great Western Industrial Park", populated by myriad warehousing and distribution companies.  It is ironic that the sports ground which was once such a sacrosanct feature of the AEC site, protected as it was by Green Belt directives, has been consumed by the development of bland and anonymous warehouses.
The former Spares Dept building stands largely unaltered since it was vacated by AEC in 1979.  The entrance & reception area has received a facelift with windows and doors which sadly do not enhance the building's architecture.  The current occupant is Action Computer Supplies 12 Windmill Lane, Southall UB2 4QD.
A suitable venue for an AEC Rally in future, perhaps?
