  LYNDHURST AVENUE ACCESS TUNNEL
These views show the former access tunnel into the Works from Lyndhurst Avenue - a short residential cul-de-sac off the Uxbridge Road.  Workers going to AEC on foot or by bicycle used this short cut under the Western Region railway tracks.
The tunnel is fenced off in Lyndhurst Avenue but it is just possible to gain access from within what was the Works - now the Great Western Industrial Park.  Some original features remain to this day, such as the handrail and street lights (non-operational), as well as a sign attached to the wicket gate, which survives also.
There was another entrance to the Works off Park Avenue, also under the railway.  The tunnel is still there, and the path is a public right of way, but there is no trace of the old entrance into the works now.
